Before you go for the FMS entrance exam this Sunday, January 10, 2010, MBAUniverse.com offers you some pointers which you must keep in mind. The official website of FMS 2010 has come up with certain instructions which you should follow.
Number of questions
The two hour exam will consist of 200 questions divided equally over four sections.
Marking system
Each correct answer contains 4 marks and for each wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted.
Timeline of the exam
The test will start at 2 pm. You have to report to your test center half an hour before the test, i.e. at 1.30 pm. You will have to take your seats within 1.45 pm and five minutes from that you will receive your test booklets. At 1.55 pm, you can break open the seals of the booklets and the test has to be started sharp at 2 pm. The conclusion and submission of test sheets will be done at 4 pm.
“Those reporting late beyond 1.45 pm will not be permitted entry, whatever maybe the reasons,” informed FMS authorities.
What to bring and what not to bring for the exam
The Admission Ticket or the Admit Card containing the Roll Number must be brought by you. You should bring your own stationery goods which must include ball point pens, HB pencils and erasers. You are also advised to bring clip boards with nothing written on them in case the tables are not smooth enough.
You should not bring anything else apart from the Admit Card and the stationeries. All reading materials, cell phones, calculators etc. should be kept outside as there would be no provision to store these articles inside the test centers.
Writing the exam
You will be provided with Optical Marking Response Sheet (ORS) along with the booklet. After you break the seal open, you must check that the number of the printed pages in the Test Booklet is same as mentioned in the cover page of the booklet and there are no printing mistakes in the same. The serial number should be same on the ORS as well.
The particulars like Roll Number, Programme applied, Category and Booklet Serial Number have to be filled up by darkening the appropriate ovals with HB pencil on the side 2 of the ORS.
“Each column of the ORS corresponds to the serial number of the question given in the test Booklet. The questions are serially numbered and each question will be followed by four ovals/options marked (1), (2), (3) & (4) out of which one response is correct/appropriate. This is to be darkened so as to completely cover the numeral written inside the oval,” explained FMS.
–Changing the answer
In case if you want to change your answer, erase the existing pencil mark and darken the appropriate oval. “Candidates must ensure that no visible mark is left after erasing; otherwise the response will be treated as wrong and will be negatively marked,” informed FMS.
–Rough Work
All Rough Work has to be done on the Booklet only. No Rough Work should be done on the ORS. You must also ensure that there are no folds or straymarks on the ORS.
After finishing the Exam
You are not allowed to leave the exam hall or submit your ORS until the exam is concluded. You will be allowed to carry your Test Booklets with you after you submit the ORS.
Using Unfair Means
“If the candidate is found using unfair means or impersonating or found to have removed page(s) of her/his Question Paper Booklet, the candidature shall be cancelled and she/he will be liable to be debarred for taking examination(s) either permanently or for a specified period or dealt with as per law or ordinance of the University according to the nature of offence. She/he may also be proceeded against and shall be liable for prosecution under the relevant provision of the Indian Penal Code. Canvassing directly or indirectly for allotment of seats or influencing the staff by unfair means would lead to serious consequences including disqualification of the candidate,” stated FMS.
Deciding the winners
“To qualify the test, you need to get at least 50 percentile in each section,” mentioned FMS. According to them, the Call Letters for GD & PI will be issued on the basis of Overall Percentile Scores and Ranks among qualified candidates.
