Ocean State Job Lot

A company affiliated with Ocean State Job Lot bought the former Ryan in the market for $ 865,000.

It’s been four months OSJ PEP Investments purchased the property in 70 Brown St. in the heart of Wickford, and only one thing is clear about how to use them in the future: it will not be a job lot.

“We have plans,” said the length of the post of Vice President of Operations Richard Portno. “But it will not be a job lot. It’s way too small.”

The building includes 5,200 square feet of retail space, much less, which requires the company to one of its stores. “It will be very appropriate to the village of Wickford,” he said.

North Kingstown Town Manager Michael Embury said no plans had been filed with the city to build and re-use.

“We do not know what their plans,” he said. “We’re just sitting here waiting to see what they come forward.”

Barbara Cullen, chairman of the Association Wickford Village, and did not hear what will be done with the building, which was home to Ryan in the market, and North Kingstown institution that was founded in 1886. Face increasing competition, has placed the building for sale in 2007 and the market closed the following year. The building has been vacant for nearly two years.

Cullen, shopkeeper Scrimshanders mystic on the main street, the association said the village welcomed the re-development, construction and members are anxiously waiting to hear what would happen to him.

“We are very pleased that something is happening because it was empty for a long time,” she said.
